Here at Barnesville Lamar County Historical Society, we see the value in historical preservation. Since our beginnings in 1973, we’ve been driven by the same ideas we initially founded our Non-Profit Organization upon: 


The Barnesville Lamar County Historical Society first, identifies historical events, locations, and artifacts. Secondly, those things identified as historical, are preserved by the society. Thirdly, those identified items are made accessible to the public.

Genealogy

We offer assistance in search for your ancestors who lived in Barnesville - Lamar County which was also once Pike County pre-1921. Our resources are endless from family files, to court records and online research we are eager to help on your search.

Old Jail Museum

We accept donations to add to our artifact collection where we offer preservation, conservation, and display historical artifacts in our Museum located at 326 Thomaston Street Barnesville, Georgia. Behind the Lamar County Courthouse.

Graveyard Alley Archives

We not only are in possession of many historical documents we are also able to identify, preserve and transcribe them. Our historical documents and photos are archived in an organized and searchable manner located @ 110-C Merchants Way Barnesville, Georgia.
